About the Item
The main theme of Kitade’s artwork is focused on questioning. The sources of the ideas are picked up from his own life experiences, starting from personal experiences and expanding into what’s happening in the world, including history, current event and future issues. Based on these themes, He questions why it’s happening, what’s the real meaning, and he wants to point out these issues to people.
Kitade would be very happy if his pieces triggered discussions with those who see his artwork. Each piece of artwork has a theme from his own point of view, a sarcastic nuance, and he wants to plant a seed in the viewers’ hearts and minds. Kitade’s search for the universal common ground in life, even in conflict. ‘Conflict is part of human nature, there is always a Side A and Side B in life.”
About the Work: From natural cold earth to gleaming high-fire surfaces, clay is the ancient anatomic medium. It is the medium in which time stands still, ideas are frozen, and yet a civilization is represented for all eternity.
“By working in clay, I have been able to explore significant issues about our antonymic existence, as Selves that can only be defined by the presence of the other.”

Medium Abstract Sculpture: 'Accepting'
By Eileen Braun
Located in New York, NY
During the COVID-19 lockdown, many faced swirling negative thoughts….. Atlanta sculptor, Eileen Braun, worked through the lockdown challenge and re-channeled that negative energy into her hands. As her hands cradled and examined the materials, her mind welcomed being in the moment and being grateful for what was. Those positive thoughts became her mantra while creating. Accepting change without judgement. On occasion, accepting the days that didn’t change, while the materials spoke anew.
She explains that “the resulting forms display my interwoven emotions: quiet, complex, absorbed, relaxed, serious, playful, flirtatious, mothering, smothering and ultimately, joyful.”
Her installation, OPEN SPACES: Espaces Ouverts, is a profusion of forms suspended in our two front facing plaza windows. As they float, sight lines...
