About the Item
Using pure oil paint, which gives the artwork its unique texture, the artist manages to use two particularly difficult colors to work with: black and blue. In his composition, he creates the illusion that the painting will stir to life at any moment.
This artwork is part of the exhibition “Kind of Blue, Kind of Black”, which is an investigation regarding the relationship between these two colors as a part of our visual and emotional language. Through the juxtaposition of both elements, which are fundamental in the artistic palette, Guzmán achieves a phenomenal combination that lives between the figurative and surrealist.
