Born in 1906 in Saint-Etienne, his artist parents intended him to take over the family marble factory. He trained at the School of Applied Arts at Industry in Paris but also attended evening classes at the School of Decorative Arts. He obtained a degree in Art Engineering, specializing in stone sculpting. On the advice of his father, at the age of 26, he turned to ceramics and began a culinary and decorative production, rewarded in 1939 with a silver medal at the Salon des Artistes Français, which were followed in 1941 and 1942 by silver and gold. He got in touch with Colette Gueden de Primavera for Le Printemps and already worked with department stores such as Le Bon Marché or Les Galeries Lafayette. He collaborates with many ceramists such as Pierre Fouquet, Paul Pouchol, Georges Jouve, or Pierre Roulot. The 50s will be synonymous with success! He became a major player in the field of ceramics, as can be seen in the cinema, in the sets of the film "Mon Oncle" by Jacques Tati, who discovered the works of Pol Chambost and integrated them in 1958. Its emblematic Corolles vases are synonymous with the free forms of the 50s, taken up by the decorators and couturiers of the time.
