About the Item

Unique Artwork Rakel Wajnberg is is an established, mid-career contemporary artist, who was born and brought up in France, like other renowned artists such as Catherine Seher, Benjamin Valenza, Valerie Collart, Patrick Faigenbaum, and Julien Nédélec. Rakel Wajnberg was born in 1971. About Rakel Wajnberg's works Rakel Wajnberg's work is illustrative of the fields of Street art and Pop. Often displayed in public locations, street art is in essence connected to graffiti art, although it covers a broader range of mediums and unconventional formats. Artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring are considered to be pioneers of street art, and significantly influenced the younger generation of street artists, including Banksy and JR. The freedom and openness of street art entices artists to create without barriers, and often provide a critique of modern issues. Pop art was born in the 1950s simultaneously across America and Britain, and reached its peak in the 1960s, in a climate of heightened consumerism and cultural revolution. Emerging artists felt like they couldn’t get in touch with the current state of art as it was taught or exhibited in museums, which they deemed too distant from their everyday lives. This led them to turn to popular culture as their main subject matter, outraging modernist critics. Amidst a few of the characteristics enumerated by pop artist Richard Hamilton, Pop Art should strive to be young, glamorous, sexy, witty, low-cost and mass produced. While in the United States pop artists were essentially attempting to move away from the deeply personal symbolism of abstract expressionism, in Britain the movement was more focused on the power of American pop-culture imagery, and its influence on the nation.

CARLA C - Bonbon Flowers
Located in PARIS, FR
Carla was born in Rome on 23 April 1998. Since she was a child she has felt a strong artistic vocation and a great passion for fashion. For many years she searched for her way in the world of art through experimentation: cutting clothes, painting on canvas, writing... The spark was ignited in 2019, while Carla was attending fashion school in her hometown, when she and her family, who have always collected vintage luxury handbags, began designing her own flowers starting with roses. The following year Carla learned modeling techniques as a self-taught, beginning to elaborate on her vision and bring her vocation to life. Thus were born Carla's works, the perfect synthesis of her two great loves: handbags and nature's most precious gift: Flowers. Always a collector of handbags, as a child Carla spent her days looking at them, studying them and adoring them . Influenced by the currents of the early 2000s, Carla acquired a unique romantic pop style. Flowers are the other constant in her life and that of her family, the natural element that has always fascinated her. Roses as a gift from nature, as a gift for someone we love, as a gift for ourselves. Unfortunately short-lived. Her creations are Carla's answer to this urgency: to stop time and make the love of bags and flowers eternal. Carla gives her works uniqueness, creating special and unique boxes...

"Rolling Risky Red" Framed RISK Rolling Stones Street Art
By RISK
Located in Greenwich, CT
Rolling Risky Red 2022 Acrylic and aerosol on hand strips of Coventry rag archival paper. About RISK: RISK (Kelly Graval) (b. 1967) was one of the first artists to exhibit graffiti and street art in galleries. With a background in fine art, Graval has a style defined by cleanly executed lettering paired with graphic imagery and architectural lines. He has participated in a number of street art crews, most famously West Coast Artists (WCA) and the Seventh Letter. In the course of his nearly 30-year career, Graval has become one of the most influential figures for subsequent generations of graffiti artists, particularly in Los Angeles. He is also considered one of the first artists to have painted on freight trains, as well as a pioneer of “painting in the heavens”—a graffiti term referring to highly elevated surfaces like billboards, rooftops, and overpasses. Kelly "RISK" Graval has been synonymous with the Los Angeles art community for over 30 Years. From his early days as a founder of the West Coast Graffiti movement to gallery and museum exhibits around the globe, including the 2012 "Art In The Streets" at the LA MoCA and the hugely successful “Beyond The Streets” exhibits in Los Angeles and New York. His work is shown at top galleries in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto, New York, Miami, and London. 10 Things to Know About Risk 1. He was knighted by the Medici Family 2. He was the first artist invited to paint in Michael Angelos studio in over 400 years 3. He was the first West Coast artist to paint the N.Y. Subway Trains. During summer break from high school in 1987, he hitchhiked to New York to paint Subway trains. He spent a few weeks painting trains, tunnels, and streets. He gained attention and met many of his inspirations including Lee Quinones, and Henry Chaflant 4. He was the first to paint freight trains on the West Coast and started the freight train movement. He was also the first to paint a top to bottom freight. 5. He was the first to paint freeway overpasses and signs. This later became dubbed heavens by his crewmates Wisk and Ser who went on to dominate freeway signs throughout Los Angeles. 6. He was the the first to paint full-color pieces and productions on the freeway creating the Los Angeles freeway movement 7. He won the world Graffiti Championship with partner Slick in England held in 1989 8. After winning the National Scholastics Arts Award in High School, he received scholarships to Savannah School of Arts and Design, as well as Pasadena Arts Center. He was very active in the streets and struggled to commit to school. He was arrested multiple times and spent a short stint in Los Angeles County Jail. He ended up attending the University Of Southern California Fine Arts. Risk finished art at USC despite being kicked out for painting a mural on the roof of the Fine Arts Department. He was later reinstated with a scholarship. The University went on to make a post of the mural and sent it to every High School in the United States. 9. Risk worked with too many Hollywood personalities, bands, and artist peers to mention, including Ice Cube, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Janes Addiction, Guns and Roses, Michael Jackson, and many more. Aerosmith quotes, "Risk is to graffiti what Aerosmith is to Rock and Roll." Collaborated with Ed Moses, Shepard Fairey, Ron English, Blade, Lee, Futura, Robbie Conal 10. Risk helped pioneer streetwear with his iconic Third Rail Streetwear line. The brand was incredibly successful and lasted 18 years until Risk walked away from it and sold it on his daughter's 1st Birthday...
