Ray Padron
HOLSTER - Wood Sculpture of Western Style Gun Holster, Hyperrealistic Sculpture

2021

About the Item

HOLSTER is a sculpture by Ray Padrón created in 2021 from painted and carved maple wood. The piece belongs to a series of work centering around clothing items and their relation to people in the artist’s life. The sculpture embodies a leather knife holster with a filigree pattern. It’s directly based on a tooled leather holster made by the artist’s grandfather during his military service, and is a fond memory of his exquisite craftsmanship. HOLSTER was featured as part of the RepresenTENN group exhibition at the Channel To Channel Gallery.
