Rare Vierge à l'Enfant en bois polychrome de tradition romane, région du Fenouillèdes, représentant une Virgo Lactans. Avant cette découverte, seules 3 vierges allaitantes médiévales étaient connues dans les Pyrénées Orientales. Notre Vierge se distingue par la qualité de son éxécution, la préservation de sa polychromie, une origine connue et une rareté de ce côté des Pyrénées. Marie est assise sur le trône avec un air doux et mystérieux. Le Christ sur ses genoux tient le Livre sur et lève l'index et le majeur de sa main droite.
Cette pièce a conservé majoritairement sa polychromie d'origine avec quelques reprises, le trône présente notamment un décor de bandes rouges et jaunes connu en Occitanie. L'origine précise de l'oeuvre sera remise à l'acquéreur.
