About the Item

Layne Rowe, Longevity, 2023 Hotworked canes, free-blown and carved glass H25 x W24 x D28cm “For nearly a thousand years Venetian glass making has given us glass art, a long history of glass techniques both innovative and creative with complexity. The longevity of tradition based in strength, wisdom and passion.” - Layne Rowe The Oak tree may live for a thousand years and has symbolised strength, wisdom and everlasting love through its longevity. Yet the power of the tiny acorn encompasses the mighty strength of this ancient tree and its powerful desire to grow. Longevity uses Venetian techniques loosely within the form of a great oak seed.
