About the Item
The nautilus never fails to fascinate. This sculpture is my interpretation of its beautifully articulated shell using dichroic glass and stainless steel. I have employed a minimalist aesthetic to represent the spiral of progressively larger buoyancy chambers created as the animal grows.

Lyle London
Lyle London grew up in Hawaii and graduated with a BA Cum Laude from Dartmouth College. His fine art sculpture strives to embody the alluring mystery of the natural world. Spiral geometry is a prevailing theme and is explored extensively in artworks over the last 20 years. He has created many large scale public art works as well as hundreds of smaller works and commissions for private placement. Clients include health care facilities, universities, hotels, and cruise ships, and municipalities. He was the founder and principal designer for an architectural metals and design business for over 25 years. 3D CAD provides a platform for his creative process in designing and engineering his work.
