About

This warm pink contemporary botanical ceramic vase features a unique willow branch design and is an original artwork by Canadian artist Misbah Ahmed. This piece from her collection of Mur vessels explores organic feminine forms with clay. Mur - meaning curve - uses a combination of wheel throwing and hand building to stack curved shapes, and then adorn them with surface designs. Inspiration for the imagery is taken from nature, everyday moments, and memories. About the Artist: Misbah Ahmed is a Pakistani-Canadian artist and designer based out of Toronto. Primarily working with oil paint and ceramic sculpture, her work examines duality, shifting cultural landscapes and the day-to-day human experience. Specifically, observing and representing how communities of colour exist in liminal space. Her creative process and methodologies use a hybrid of modern and cultural techniques, maintaining and continuing generational practices and methods of creation in her work. Willow Porcelain, underglaze, glaze 9.5 x 4.5 inches Unique Authenticity: Artwork is signed by the artist Misbah Ahmed on the bottom
