About the Item

LORENZO QUINN (Rome, 1966) "Adam and Eve" Bronze-plated Edition 038/999-RW Signed and numbered Dimensions: 27 x 13 x 13 cm Lorenzo Quinn's work expresses the idea that woman is the essence of the male soul. "Man cannot be complete without woman. Without her, man is left empty," says the artist. The son of actor Anthony Quinn, Lorenzo Quinn was raised between the United States and Italy, where he developed a deep appreciation for art. At just twenty-one years old, he earned the respect of the New York art scene with a commission for the United Nations, a piece that led to his selection for the celebrated Absolut Vodka advertising campaign, which features only the world’s most renowned artists. Shortly after, he received a prestigious commission from the Vatican to create a sculpture of Saint Anthony on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the saint’s death. Quinn has exhibited on five continents, and his work is featured at major international art fairs. He has completed significant commissions for both institutions and corporations, including Euroforum Escorial, the Madrid College of Physicians, the ATP Mallorca Open Tennis Trophy, and San Miguel Beer, among others. His current project, The Globe of Life, is considered his most important and ambitious work to date. Quinn has also created public sculptures for cities such as London, Birmingham, and Sant Climent de Llobregat (Barcelona). In November 2005, two of his monuments were inaugurated at the sports complex built for the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar.
