Reinata Sadimba Senza Titolo Ceramic sculpture cm 47 x 28 x 26 Signed work in drypoint. Artwork accompanied by certificate of authenticity issued by the Foundation Sarenco, Salo. Born in 1945 in the largest town on the Mueda Plateau (Mozambique), Reinata Sadimba learned to practice the Makonde tradition related to the production of clay figures. Among the Makonde, sculpture is an activity generally reserved for men, which was an obstacle for Reinata early in his career when he decided to take up this traditional practice. He then decided to focus as a sculptural subject on Mother Earth as a key allegorical figure, rooting himself in the matrilineal heritage. The piece is accompanied by a certification of authenticity issued by a gallery.
