Original artwork
'Clocking Off' represents the coming together of the very old and the very new. A grandfather clock is a symbol of age and times gone by. Lego, on the other hand, symbolises childhood and youth. This piece of work aims to juxtapose these two seemingly incongruous items, prompting the viewer to reassess the meaning of both.

Bio:
Simon Shepherd (b. UK) is a contemporary British artist whose practice bridges the boundaries between sculpture, painting, and design. Known for his clean geometric forms, layered constructions, and finely balanced use of colour and texture, Shepherd explores the intersection of industry, architecture, and human ritual. His wall-based works often project into space, creating shifting shadows and dimensionality that change with the viewer’s perspective.
Drawing inspiration from the built environment and the cultural memory of working life, Shepherd’s works resonate with a sense of rhythm and mechanical precision, offset by the tactile warmth of hand-finished surfaces. His approach combines rigorous craftsmanship with a conceptual sensitivity, resulting in works that are both strikingly modern and deeply human.
Shepherd’s art has been exhibited in the UK and internationally, gaining recognition for its unique ability to transform domestic and corporate interiors into reflective spaces of order and calm. Collectors are drawn to his sculptures for their sculptural presence, versatility, and timeless design language.

James Higginson finds inspiration in mid-century design, organic materials, and photography, exploring the interplay of light, shadow, and color to shape atmosphere. Playfulness is central to his work, as he reimagines forms in new states to challenge their essence and invite discovery. His creative process balances planning and improvisation, where deliberate ideas and unexpected outcomes coexist.
Cacti, especially the Saguaro, feature prominently in his work. Drawn to their resilience and mysticism, he celebrates their cultural and botanical significance, particularly their role in Native American traditions and their status as Arizona’s state flower.
In the future, he hopes to create a platform for supporting and connecting emerging creatives, unlocking their potential through collaboration and mentorship.
