George Long received his BFA from the Atlanta College of Art in 1995 and currently lives and works in Atlanta. His first solo exhibition was at Marcia Wood Gallery in Atlanta in 2004, where he introduced the widely acclaimed 8 x 8 work. Long’s solo and 2 person exhibitions include Flux Projects, Atlanta, the Zuckerman Museum, Kennesaw State University, Space Eight, St Augustine, FL, Gallery One Twelve, Atlanta, Tempus Projects, St. Augustine, FL,Cosms, Dashboard Coop, Atlanta, Columbus Museum, Columbus, GA, the University of West Georgia, Carrolton, GA, the Madison County Art Council, Marshall N.C. among others. Group exhibitions have included the International Kunstler Kolonie Exhibition,Nuremburg, (and residency), The Atlanta Contemporary Art Center (2007 Biennial and 2012 "Day Job: Georgia), the Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art, Jacksonville, FL, the Zuckerman Museum, Kennesaw, GA, Art on the Beltline, Atlanta, GA, Paco Sas Artes, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Tempus Projects, Tampa, FL, Dalton Gallery, Agnes Scott College, Georgia, and Brenau University, Georgia. In 2010 he received an NEA grant for public sculpture. Brett Eric Osborn was born in Lima, Ohio in 1963. Both his father and his cousin are artists and influenced the young Osborn during his formative years. Brett recalls being a child during a "Friday-night-smoked-filled-room-critique" where his father and friends would meet to look at slides of contemporary artists and their work. His father worked as a painter and a designer. His father's familiar designs included the "Grey Hound Bus" logo and the "Circle K" logos. Brett studied painting, film and theater at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He supported himself working in professional theater as a set builder, in television as an art director and after moving to Southern California in 1987, worked in Hollywood as a special effects miniature artist. In life, every time you do or make something you have the opportunity to make something creative and original. Take something, add to it and pass it on; that’s the creative process. The world around us is an infinite source of inspiration. My art is influenced by a combination of the styles of the Symbolist, the Surrealist, and the contemporary Realist and is the result of a compulsive motivation to make things. After several years serving in the U.S. Navy and several fits and starts with college, David graduated from Georgia State University in 1977 with a BFA concentration in sculpture. Since then he has continued to produce art in a variety of mediums including sculpture, painting, furniture, ceramics and drawing. Craftsmanship is a motivational force in all his work.
