Moda Madison
The trailblazing online luxury retailer Moda Operandi has opened its first-ever New York shopping space inside a two-story townhouse on the Upper East Side. Called Moda Operandi Madison, the by-invitation showroom offers guests a “tailored experience” as they peruse next season’s fashions by the likes of Brandon Maxwell, Emilia Wickstead, Delpozo and Giambattista Valli, along with fine jewelry by Nicholas Varney, Fernando Jorge, Lorenz Baumer and others.
Those lucky enough to get inside enter a sumptuous salon-like setting decorated with neoclassical, Art Deco, mid-century and contemporary furnishings from 1stdibs. In addition, Moda Operandi cofounder Lauren Santo Domingo has assembled the collection below, which includes the elegant furniture found in the townhouse, plus several more of her 1stdibs favorites. “We wanted a space that offers the intimacy of a home, but provides context to the Moda Operandi brand, the product and the experience,” Santo Domingo says. “It had to be a place that you wanted to come to.” Mission accomplished.
