Nybg Antique Furniture Show 2014
Garden aficionados look forward each spring to the Antique Garden Furniture Fair at the New York Botanical Garden. This year’s event, with nearly three dozen dealers bringing vintage objects for — or inspired by — the garden, ran from April 25 through 27 in a tent behind the NYBG’s famous glass conservatory. Barbara Israel; Arader Galleries; Schorr and Dobinsky; and Fleur were among the esteemed galleries that took part. "This is the show of dreams,” says Barbara Cirkva Schumacher, the Chanel fashion executive who owns Fleur with her husband, John. “We all love gardens and every booth inspires a flight of fantasy and discovery of the unknown."
Among the highlights of the 1stdibs-sponsored event was a preview party on Thursday evening, April 24, as well as special talks by such garden designers as Paige Dickey and Deborah Nevins and a dedicated section of specialty plants.
Whether or not you made it to the fair, you can still peruse this collection of objects offered by the 1stdibs dealers who participated.
