Gaulino Easy Chair by Oscar Tysquets black lacquered ashwood, contemporary
By Oscar Tusquets Blanca
Located in Barcelona, ES
“The challenge was to design a light armchair, not too high, using wood and leather. At the beginning, it was going in a different direction, but after making various models, prototypes and considering BD’s design team’s different perspectives on the matter, the result has inevitably drawn toward what is now the Gaulino chair, which was designed nearly 30 years ago. We did not envision it so, but the ergonomics and the aesthetic coherence of this piece has taken us toward a solution much like the Gaulino chair, an heiress of Gaudí and Mollino, and have decided to conserve the name.” OSCAR TUSQUETS

Easy Chair in Sissoo by Pierre Jeanneret c.1955
By Pierre Jeanneret
Located in London, GB
Wonderful original Easy Chair designed by Pierre Jeanneret. Model no. PJ-SI-29-A. The Easy Chair is masterpiece of modernist design, comfortable and practical, showcasing Jeanneret’s iconic “compass” style, with triangular-section legs, curved backrest and sloping armrests.
Made in richly coloured Sissoo, lightly restored and re-caned to retain as much of the chair’s original patina as possible.
Pierre Jeanneret (22 March 1896 - 4 December 1967) was a Swiss architect who collaborated with his cousin, Le Corbusier, designing furniture for Le Corbusier's vast modernist complex at Chandigarh. Jeanneret remained for over 15 years as the project’s chief architect and the city remains a masterpiece of the modern vision. The pair pioneered a new aesthetic that placed function and order over embellishment—Jeanneret’s work imbuing the strict geometry of modernism with lighter materials like cane and wood.
Jeanneret also collaborated with other modern masters, Charlotte Perriand on experiments in aluminium and wood, and Jean Prouve developing prefabricated housing.

Charles Dudouyt Easy Chairs, 1940s, Set of 2
By Charles Dudouyt
Located in Lonigo, Veneto
Charles Dudouyt easy chairs, straw and wood, France, 1940s, set of two.
Recalling the turned chair model, Charles Dudouyt created these carved chairs as 'fireside' chairs, hence the low seats. Using playful geometries and construction, he crafted the wooden structure in Art Deco forms. The seats' original straw is preserved and creates a charming contrast with the dark wooden structure. The legs are joined by crosspieces, enhancing the square shape of the design. Dudouyt enriched the typical French straw chair...
