Aurelio Pescina Wall Decorations
Aurelio Pescina was born in 1938 in San Luis Potosi. Even as a child, he was interested in painting. His paintings resonate with vibrant colors, impressionist pointillism and bold brush strokes. Through the use of simplified figures, he captured the essence of daily life in provincial Mexico as it existed during his lifetime. Pescina began his studies in the School of Painting and at the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes, and participated in the creation of the murals at the National Museum of Anthropology. He gave many one-man shows during his life. Many were in Mexico, but his other venues included Athens, Burnsville, Dallas, Newport Beach and San Diego. Pescina died in 1990 in Mexico City.
