This is a beautifully sculpted bronze elephant by Barbara Beretich. The elephant comes across as a playful with one of his front legs raised on a ball much like a circus elephant. His trunk is curled up and tusks raised. the bronze is signed on the ball and the hand applied patina is a rich blue green. Below some information on the artist: During her younger years in California, Beretich's family raised multiple animals including hogs, cows, sheep and horses, influencing her artwork. Her work is very versatile including equine, other animals, human figures and abstract work. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a BA in art. This is a stunning and rare collection of mirror polished bronze figures by Barbara Beretich from her estate. This collection contains 7 total pieces; we have 3 different figures represented. One group has 4 pieces (5" x 4.5" x 2"), one group has 2 ( 4" x 4" x 2"), and the the last is a single piece (3.5" x 2" x 2") Please see pictures. We have decided to offer this group of pieces as a collection. This is a great opportunity to have such a prolific collection of Beretich pieces; these figures will be sure to draw attention. Entitled "Tanko", this is a beautiful and sleek bronze cat sculpture by Barbara Beretich(1936-2018). This lounging cat is displayed while grooming itself with its curvy tail wrapping around it's body and legs. Beretich's unique use of patina accentuates the subtle presentation of movement. We currently have 2 of these, same mold and patina. On a chair, sofa or on its own, this sculpture sits elegantly wherever it is placed.
