I mean, have you ever? This rare travelling salesman sample miniature bar is in very good condition and is labeled Brunswick Balke-Collender Co. in clear and vibrant lettering. Not only known for its billiard tables and sporting goods, this Midwest based company built bars for two decades starting from the 1880s as saloons were growing in popularity. Features include a stainless steel top, nickel foot rail (remember men stood at the bars at that time- there were no stools), a green glass liquor bottle inside and a metal pump handle that works but not tested with liquid. A salesman sample is a smaller version of a specific product and were commonly used in the 19th and 20th centuries to show important details of larger pieces. These small, exact duplicates were sent to sales representatives to take pre-orders from retailers, trade shows, and wholesale accounts since the larger life sized models were impossible to cart around.
