18th Century British porcelain Caughley painted chinoiserie shaped dishes, circa 1785-1793. The pair of shaped oval dishes are painted in the center with a chinoiserie scene of a pagoda by a lakeside and others in the background and a solitary Chinese figure fishing in the foreground by the side a fenced garden. The wide border has a repeating pattern of a large Double Greek Key design and panels of diaper. The blue on one is a little darker than the other. Dimensions: width 10 1/2 inches x 7 1/4 inches x 1 1/2 inches high Mark: In underglaze blue a number 8 or possibly a B on the inside foot rim of the darker example.
