Inspired by Chinese ink paintings, Cindy Ng presents the movement of ink flow in the form of video, photograph, giclée print and performance art. She adds acrylic paints and liquid materials such as milk, coffee and soy sauce with Chinese ink in creating her art pieces. She records different materials flow, combines and collides with each other. Cindy Ng ‘s art is a combination of splash ink painting and an integration of performance and photography that creates contemporary ink painting in a unique style.
Cindy Ng was born in 1966, Macao. In the 90s, she stayed in London and studied Chinese painting collections at the Calligraphy Collection Research Department, British Museum. In 1996, she moved to Taiwan and continued her study in contemporary ink paintings. Her artworks have been showcased in many international exhibitions around the world. Cindy Ng’s artworks can be found in Beijing Today Art Museum, Taipei Art Museum, Macau Oriental Foundation Gallery and Hubei Art Museum, China.
