Photorealism Still Life Acrylic Painting Flower Photo Realist Orchid, Vivid Blue
By Clarence Measelle
Located in Surfside, FL
Close up of a flower. canvas measures 30 X24 inches. Clarence Skip Measelle has been featured in over 100 gallery and museum exhibitions, competitions, group shows, and solo shows throughout the US. He is best known for his work in photorealism and abstract illusionism. The name Photorealism (also known as Hyperrealism or Superrealism) was coined in reference to those artists whose work depended heavily on photographs, which they often projected onto canvas allowing images to be replicated with precision and accuracy. The exactness was often aided further by the use of an airbrush, which was originally designed to retouch photographs. The movement came about within the same period and context as Conceptual art, Pop art, and Minimalism and expressed a strong interest in realism in art, over that of idealism and abstraction. The first Photo realists were Chuck Close, Don Eddy, Richard Estes, Ralph Goings, Robert Bechtle, Audrey Flack, Denis Peterson, Lowel Nesbitt and Malcolm Morley. Each began practicing some form of Photorealism around the same time, often utilizing different modes of application and techniques, and citing different inspirations for their work. However, for the most part they all worked independent from one another. For example, Chuck Close came of age at the height of Pop art and Andy Warhol's Factory, and was based out of SoHo in lower Manhattan. And Audrey Flack, a graduate of Yale, began creating photo-based works in the early 1960s. Select Solo Exhibitions Armory Art Center, West Palm Beach, Fl. Palm Trees Rising - Vibrant Textural Landscape Oil Painting
By Katharina Husslein
Located in Los Angeles, CA
With a contemporary perspective on landscape painting and inspired by paintings created by old masters, German artist Katharina Husslein paints in a representational manner to capture lively bouquets and saturated idyllic landscapes. Her passion for natural beauty is seen in her work as she transforms vistas familiar and rare into stunning interpretations of bold color, playful rhythms, and emotional impact. Within her impressionist landscape paintings, her experiences abroad truly come to light. These textural and abstract paintings perfectly capture the vibrancy and movement included in a coastal sunset. This series differs from Husslein’s more controlled and smoother still-life floral series which derives a more direct inspiration from art history and representational flower bouquets. Her contemporary floral oil paintings are hyperrealistic works of art full of color, depth, and detail. Flowers’ visual and tactile qualities, as well as their associations with love, femininity, and the natural world, have contributed to Husslein's colorful compositions. This one-of-a-kind oil painting on canvas measures 39.5 inches high by 31.5 inches wide. It is signed by Husslein on the back. This painting is wired and ready to hang. The sides are painted as a continuation of the front and it does not require framing. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and International shipping are available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. “I create paintings that capture the joy of the moment in time where everything seems quietly perfect and the flowers are in full bloom. A metaphor as old as time, to seize the moment and enjoy it to its fullest extent.” Her high contrast works with bright, saturated colors and dynamic compositions are exciting and stimulating. Born in Wertheim, Germany, Husslein grew up in a quaint village surrounded by luscious hills and flowing rivers. To grow her practice and widen her perspective, she left Germany to study art in London, UK. As part of her studies, she lived in Los Angeles, New York, and Australia. Now based in Munich, Germany, Husslein has exhibited her artworks across Europe, gaining collectors internationally. Artspace Warehouse Los Angeles has exhibited her original paintings since 2022. By That Magic Thread That Cannot Be Untied - Floral Still Life Oil Painting
By Katharina Husslein
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Inspired by paintings created by old masters and the immersive nature she experienced in the Black Forest, German artist Katharina Husslein paints in a representational hyperrealistic manner to capture lively bouquets and saturated landscapes. Husslein’s controlled and smooth still-life floral artworks derive direct inspiration from art history and flower photography. Flowers’ visual and tactile qualities, as well as their associations with love, femininity, and the natural world, have contributed to Husslein's colorful compositions. This one-of-a-kind oil painting on canvas measures 41.5 inches high by 47.5 inches wide. The artwork is stretched, wired, and ready to hang. The sides are painted as a continuation of the front. It is signed by Husslein on the front and the back. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and International shipping are available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. “I create paintings which capture the joy of the moment in time where everything seems quietly perfect and the flowers are in full bloom. A metaphor as old as time, to seize the moment and enjoy it to its fullest extent.” When you look closely at these paintings you will see all kinds of amazing plants arranged together in a vase, some of which may not flower at the same time. The artworks focus more on the colors, lighting, textures, and botanical details which make Husslein's paintings so intriguing. Born in Wertheim, Germany, Husslein grew up in a quaint village surrounded by luscious hills and flowing rivers. To grow her practice and widen her perspective, she left Germany to study art in London, UK. As part of her studies, she lived in Los Angeles, New York, and Australia.
