Sculptural pitcher from Dino Martens. There are 4 bands each with 12 filigrees alternated in white and black.
Black is not made with smalto technique, which was developed later by Effetre International and Lino Tagliapietra. This black is done in the Classic way, with high concentration of Amethyst color.
Result is a fading in amethyst that shows when light passes through the pitcher body.
Piece is elegant and has black accents (foot and handle) proportions very well made.
Heavy and tall.
Masterpiece. I allowed myself some artistic photos with the silhouette of the pitcher showing on the shade.
Please note when light is direct black is deep.
Base shows punty rod attachment. No signature. Assigned to the 1950/1960s for the use of filigree in black amethyst.
