Beautiful folding stool with matching tray designed by Poul Hundevad for Domus Danica in Vamdrup, Denmark, circa 1950.
The stool is made from amazing quality teak wood with a thick, strong black leather upholstery. The leather is beautifuly connected to the base, it is clearly designed with a nice eye for detail. This stool comes with a matching top that is made to be placed on the stool to turn it into a side table. Both pieces are labeled "Made in Denmark, Poul Hundevad, Vamdrup" and with the Danish quality control seal. This wonderful, versatile piece would make a true eye-catcher in any midcentury / modern interior.
In good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
Poul Buch Hundevad was a Danish furniture designer, best known for Guldhøj chair - a folding chair based on findings of a chair from the early Bronze Age. This chair is produced in more than 15,000 copies and is still being made today.
