Alfonso began drawing at an early age. He first found inspiration in comic books and enjoyed drawing his favorite super heroes from an unconventional perspective. As a teenager he started to experiment with oils, acrylics and took his passion for art to the canvas. Even after painting for over 20 years, he still pushes the boundaries while experimenting with mixed medias, including oil, acrylic, gouache, and spray paint.
Alfonso attended art school in Tampa, Florida and travelled Europe for several years in search of inspiration and his own unique voice in art. Alfonso used his in depth studies of European Masters and was inspired by Picasso, Braque, Klee, Dali, Basquiat, De Kooning and Matisse. The joyful expressions of his artworks resonate with positive light and inspire creative thinking and innovation. His works have been represented by the seller, Los Angeles and exhibited in Florida and California. They have been collected throughout the US.

"I Can Experience Joy and Happiness" Abstract Butterfly Painting Acrylic Canvas
By Ash Almonte
Located in New York, NY
The Butterfly series for Ash began as a sentiment to her late Father. Butterflies began to appear in unexplainable ways after his passing, the artist later discovered that Butterflies represent spiritual rebirth, transformation, change, hope, and life - she goes on to say: "The butterfly series draws inspiration from Rivera's quote 'Butterflies can't see their wings. They can't see how truly beautiful they are, but everyone else can.'" After coming to the fruition that Butterflies pose as not only a symbol for beauty and rebirth, Almonte felt a feeling of deep comfort. Her passion for sharing this message of hope and renewal through her colorfully diverse canvases is achieved with resilience leaving her audience glimmering much like the inner voice and the spark of Joie de vivre that fuels her purpose in life to create. This piece is painted on thick gallery wrap canvas and is signed lower right and on verso, it comes with hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed.
Art measures 48 x 48 inches
Inspired by vibrance and an optimistic outlook on life, Ash Almonte is recognized for her distinct abstract expressionistic style. She is best known for her series of Chandeliers, Butterflies, and Fashion from the Seventh Avenue Design District. Almonte's award-winning works can be found in private and permanent collections around the world. She is motivated by change, compassion for others, and miraculous phenomena that can impact others for good.
Her flair and admiration for fashion and art have been a staple of her life since childhood. As a young girl, she would experiment using anything she could find to make art; from tearing apart bushel baskets at her father’s fruit stand, to tearing out old magazine clippings from her mother's magazine collection; anything and everything around her could potentially be used to create. She would continue to seek out opportunities throughout her young adult years, as her love for fashion grew, allowing her to collaborate with celebrity stylists creating looks for top billboard artists, as well as apparel worn at New York Fashion Week for designers Sherri Hill...

Abstract Mixed Media Collage Oil Painting Sports, Leather Baseball Mitts
By Patrick LoCicero
Located in Surfside, FL
Title: (Baseball) Mits
25.5" W x 25.5" H x 2.25" framed; canvas measures 24" W x 24" H.
Provenance: The Rails Collection, Washington, DC (with their label verso)
This depicts floating baseball gloves inn an abstract pattern.
This is not signed on the front and might be signed verso. We have not examined out of frame.
Patrick LoCicero was born in Youngstown, Ohio, in 1959. He attended Youngstown State University, Ohio, and the Columbus College of Art and Design. He completed a B.F.A. at Ohio State University in 1982 and an M.F.A. at the San Francisco Art Institute in 1986. His paintings, installations, prints, and multimedia work have been shown in California, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. LoCicero's richly layered imagery is characterized by unusual juxtapositions of everyday objects and classical motifs, which play with the viewer's perception of materials and subjects. LoCicero’s assemblage paintings combine collage with painting. The overlap and collage elements relate directly to the images he depicts, guiding him in his choice of subjects, and come from a variety of sources including the Kama Sutra, antique children’s books, letters and journals. His still life paintings resonate due to the contrast the artist sets up between the collaged surface and the painted surface, as well as the play between the actual shallow space and implied deep space. Patrick specializes in creating mixed-media collages that tell stories. Collage paintings inventively reinterpret the collage technique that developed during the Cubist Dada era, and he reinvigorates one of the most important modes of expression in the art of the 20th Century.
