Joel Edwards Signed Mid-Century Modern California Studio Pottery Ceramic Bowl
By Joel Edwards
Located in Studio City, CA
A wonderfully designed and executed bowl by famed American California potter, Joel Edwards. This piece features his hand-painted brushwork. Edwards was inspired by Japanese Sumi and Abstract Expressionist painters and this bowl exemplifies this.
Edwards was a student of Peter Voulkos at Otis. He also studied under Marguerite Wildenhain and Shoji Hamada.
This hefty and solid bowl is signed by Edwards on the base.
Would make for a great addition to any Mid-Century Modern pottery collection or eye-catching stand-alone work in about any setting.
Edward's works can be found in many private collections and museums including:
American Museum of Ceramic Art, Ponoma, California
Long Beach Museum of Art, Long Beach, California
Scripps College...
