Gerardo Wohlgemuth Art
Gerardo Wohlgemuth was born in Buenos Aires in 1960. An architect, sculptor, engraver and painter, Wohlgemuth works and experiments with several kinds of techniques and mediums. He started his training in the workshop of Adrian Dorado and, subsequently, Hugo Padeletti. Formed within the Constructivist movement, Wohlgemuth initiated a search for synthesis and his own language. In 1998, he began constructing a series — “solids,” in which the artworks focused on pieces of pure form, clean lines and blunt images. The work "Solid air" in his series won the first prize at the Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales del 2000, exhibited in Paris. Since then, an introspective search led him to investigate the theme of the vacuum. In 2006, Wohlgemuth participated in the Buenos Aires Cowparade Field of Experimental Art, Directorate General.
