10/25 Signed Mounted 14 x 11 inches Ian Laurie was born in 1933 and is a self taught artist who made the transition from industry to artistry around 40 years ago when he & his wife opened a gallery specialising in original, hand made prints by artists working in that medium. His own hobby of sketching soon became etching and it wasn't long before he was producing his own limited edition etchings...

From the artist's Circus cycle of prints. Werger has received over 250 awards in national and international exhibitions. In 2015 he recieved the Guanlan International Printmaking Prize at the Guanlan Biennial in China, followed by the Grand Prize at the Ekaterinburg mezzotint festival in Russia. In 2012 he received the Award of the Rector at the International Print Triennial in Krakow, Poland and the Prize for Full Correspondence between technique and Imagery at the First International Mezzotint Festival in Ekaterinburg, Russia.
