Henri-Charles Toussaint Figurative Prints
Henri-Charles Toussaint was a French painter, illustrator, and etcher, who gained his highest reputation thanks to his architectural studies of Paris, of French provinces and Oxford and Cambridge. Toussaint was the pupil of Gaucherel and Andre in Paris, though he learned etching with Brunet-Desbaines. He exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1874 and in the following years, he received numerous awards, including medals from the Exposition Universelle in 1876, 1884, 1899 and 1900. Toussaint’s architectural etchings were well-known in both England and his native country France.
