Luxurious coffee table designed by Karl Erik Ekselius, manufactured by JOC in Sweden around 1950. The top of the table is made of high quality teakwood, the legs are made of oak with brass supports. The very well-crafted legs are X-shaped, giving the table an eye-catching finish. It would make a great addition to any modern interior. In good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. Karl Erik Ekselius (1914-1998) was a Swedish furniture designer, trained in Germany in the 1930s by Carl Malmsten. He worked for manufacturer JO Carlsson Möbelindustri (later JOC Furniture) in Vetlanda, Sweden. First as an employee and later in 1961 as the owner of the company. He designed furniture for companies, his breakthrough being at the famous H55-exhibition in Sweden where he caught a lot of attention for his beautiful design.
