Leona Marie Turner was born and raised in West Texas, where she is well-known and her paintings are sought-after. In Albuquerque, she taught classes to almost every aspiring artist in New Mexico and many from Arizona, including Curt Walters. Turner was proficient with oil paints, watercolor and pastels, and her works hang in numerous important places in the Southwest. Many portraits were commissioned from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to Amarillo, Dallas and El Paso, Texas. Turner was a member of many art societies, including the Portrait Society of America, National Watercolor Society, New Mexico Watercolor Society, New Mexico Art League, Coppini Academy of Fine Arts and more. Turner and Walter Bambrook managed the New Mexico State Fair Art Gallery for many decades.

Leona Turner (1929 - 2004)
Leona Marie Turner was born and raised in West Texas, where she is well-known and her paintings are sought after. In Albuquerque, she taught classes to most every aspiring artist in New Mexico and many from Arizona, including Curt Walters.
She was proficient with oil paints, watercolor and pastels, and her works hang in numerous important places in the Southwest.
Many portraits were commissioned from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to Amarillo, Dallas and El Paso, Texas. Internationally known artist Curt Walters commissioned a 40x60 oil portrait in 1990.

Margaret Dobson was a painter, illustrator, muralist, etcher. Born in Baltimore, MD on Nov. 9, 1888. Dobson studied at the Maryland Institute, PAFA, Fontainebleau School of Art (Paris), and Syracuse University. She studied privately with Daniel Garber, Cecilia Beaux, Violet Oakley, Emil Carlsen, Robert Vonnoh, Hugh Breckenridge, and others. She was active in London, England until 1933. She then settled in Los Angeles where she remained until her death on Jan. 20, 1981. Primarily a muralist, she also painted floral still lifes and landscapes of the Sierra and southern California. A heavy downpour smashes against the windshield distorting the scene ahead. Part of the "windshield series" this painting emphasizes some of the linear aspects of rain and water, as well as motion. Heavy rain experienced from a place of comfort. My windshield paintings aim to capture these fleeting and intimate moments in time and reveal the serene center that can arise in the midst of natures turbulence. "Street Tree in a Deluge" is painted on gallery wrapped linen, on 1 1/2 inch deep stretchers, with color matched, hand painted edges, wired with finger friendly coated wire and ready for installation. A childhood of moving and traveling around the United States has shaped Katherine Keans vision, as have journeys to eastern Africa, Mexico, Scotland, France and painting jaunts all over Keans now native California. Born in West Virginia, moving later to Ohio and New Jersey, but growing up mainly in Massachusetts, she attended Rhode Island School of Design, graduating with a BFA in Film, Video and Animation. Long fascinated by the intersection of order and chaos in the natural world, Katherine Kean skillfully uses observation, memory, and interpretation to translate her love of natures kinetic phenomena into paintings that capture the often turbulent emotions within light, weather, and landscapes.
