Wilhelm Wagenfeld Gray Bauhaus Sconce Double Wall Light by Linder Germany, 1950
By Lindner, Wilhelm Wagenfeld
Located in Vienna, AT
A Midcentury Modern double socket wall lamp/sconce dating back to the 1950s, designed by Wilhelm Wagenfeld. Made of porcelain with a glossy grey glaze accentuated by two white opaline glass lampshades/bulb covers. Based on our experience so far, the gray version is relatively rare and also one of the most in demand. Executed by Linder Wandleuchten in Germany, this piece offers two E14 light sources and is preserved in excellent condition. The lamp is delivered in a way that allows for hassle-free use worldwide and complies with the standards commonly used in different regions (USA, EU, etc.). This minimalistic wall light is suitable for various rooms, with a particular recommendation for bathrooms or as a vanity mirror light.
Wilhelm Wagenfeld was a renowned German designer recognized for his significant contributions to the field of industrial design. Born in 1900 in Bremen, Germany, he was particularly acclaimed for his works in the Bauhaus style and later contributions to modern design. His notable designs include the Bauhaus Table Lamp (1924), also known as the "Wagenfeld Lamp," the Kubus Chess Set (1928), a minimalist chess...

Questions About Lightcraft of California Wall Lights and Sconces
- What is a California Watch Dial?1 Answer1stDibs ExpertNovember 2, 2021A California watch dial is a clock face featuring half Roman numerals (generally for 10 o’clock to 2 o’clock) and half Arabic numerals (generally for 4 o’clock to 8 o’clock). A dash might replace the hours of 3, 6, and 9 — instead of the comparatively unexciting numerical representation — and an inverted triangle might be used to represent the hour of 12. On 1stDibs, find a variety of antique, modern and contemporary watches.
- Who invented California dial?1 Answer1stDibs ExpertApril 5, 2022The California dial likely originated in the 1930s because Californians loved mixing Roman and Arabic numbers. However, the style grew in popularity in the 1970s when refinisher Kirk Rich was tasked with creating California dial watch faces. You’ll find a range of California dial watches on 1stDibs.
