Marcello Avenali More Furniture and Collectibles
Marcello Avenali was an Italian artist and engraver. In 1939, he exhibited for the first time at the Gallenga Gallery in Rome. He took part in the main national exhibitions of the 1950s, also sending some works to the Exhibition of Contemporary Italian Art of Johannesburg, in 1955. In 1958, he won the Viterbo and Villa S. Giovanni prizes. His language was initially oscillating between the expressive possibilities of postcubist figurativeness and those of a more determined abstraction. Avenali's works can be found in the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome and the contemporary art collection of the Pontifical Museums and Galleries, as well as in numerous private collections.
