Born in London, she exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Institute of Artists, the Fine Art Society, Grosvenor Gallery, Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts, Goupil Gallery, Walker Art Gallery, Society of Women Artists and the Paris Salon. Whittington was also a member of the Royal Society of British Artists.
