Paul Ledoux Figurative Prints
1884-1960
Paul Ledoux was an artist-painter and engraver born in Alsace, a French province that became German after the War of 1870. After his artistic studies in Strasbourg, Paris and Munich, Ledoux returned to Paris in 1914 at the time of the declaration of war. He enlisted in the French army and fought in Argonne. During the conflict, day after day, he took notes in his little notebooks. Ledoux also succeeded in continuing his art illustrating the lives of soldiers and places of battle.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born in Kyoto, Imao Keinen (1845-1924) studied painting and calligraphy with Umegata Tokyo and Suzuki Hyakunen. He taught at the Kyoto Prefecture School of Painting and exhibited in shows in Japan and Paris.
