Art Deco French Enameled Silver Desk Clock
Located in Hamilton, Ontario
This enameled silver desk clock is unsigned, so a specific maker cannot be identified, but the case was made in France, and the movement in Switzerland in the period and style of Art Deco. The silver content of the case has not been tested, but is believed to be Continental or .800 or just under .925 sterling, The front of the clock is ornately enameled with raised bright red flowers on each corner with contrasting black and red geometric panels with green accents, which are duplicated on the sides. The hinged back opens to gain access to the winding mechanism and the high grade Swiss movement has been professionally serviced and works well. Although barely visible, the clock is stamped on the bottom with a French...

Art Deco Clock, Girl, Bird and Dogs by Pierre Sega and Japy Freres
By Pierre Sega, Japy Frères
Located in Belper, Derbyshire
A stunning and rare clock by the well known sculptor Pierre Sega, circa 1925. It features a charming scene of a girl holding a bird aloft to save it from her two large and playful dogs. Beautifully modelled in colored and patinated white metal. The clock case is veneered in the most fantastic early celluloid, piano black, mottled green and faux mother of pearl.
The dial is matted gold, screen printed with stylized elongated numerals and complete with it's original square form blued steel hands. The superb bronze half moon bezel is fitted with the original bevelled glass.
The French movement is of excellent quality and is by Japy Freres. It is a traditional 'Pendule de Paris' movement with a pendulum. It is in excellent clean and running condition. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We can send you a video of the clock, please ask.
Condition of the case is very good. The celluloid veneer has some shrinkage cracks and gaps and some slight marks. The original finish of the metal work has worn and faded to a lovely patina over time. The glass is excellent and original. The dial is also excellent, some very slight fading to the lettering.
Signature of the artist P Sega...
