Once the light touches a Limber Gem the interplay between the rugged crinkly background, the ruff edges and the warm colours really starts. Limber Gems are behaving as chameleons playing with incoming light, reflection and colour in every interior.
Pleunie Buyink graduated at the Design Academy Eindhoven in June 2014. Before she graduated at Artemis Rotterdam as a fashion designer. The love for fashion- interior and materials is something that is always noticed in her work, creating new materials and combining different techniques. For her graduation project at the Design Academy she developed a newly composition material, combining different layers and materials.
The composition material is called; Limber Gems. Pleunie is creating elegant interior jewelry with this material.
She manages the whole process, giving her the opportunity to create the objects in almost every shape, size or colour. Every object is unique, colors are being composed of very pure pigments.
Pleunie collaborates with high end architects, designers and curators
to create objects especially for their projects. The work is aesthetic and the viewers interpretation of the objects is up to them, which makes them extremely suitable for public spaces. She already created art for hotels, restaurants and cruise ships.
Growing up as a little girl on the edge of a forest ensures that this is nowadays still her source of inspiration, which can be colors, structures or fragments.to

“Contemplation” is an abstract clay sculpture of a female. The figure has both arms and legs extended, but the dignified pose suggests an intimate rather than a sexual moment. The sculpture is delicately rendered, but monumental in pose and clean composition reminiscent of the English artist Henry Moore. The surface is warm and slightly rough to the touch. This sculpture is in the round and beautifully balanced geometrically with the hands clasped behind the head forming a slightly flattened polygon shape that is echoed in the positioning of the legs and draped fabric of a presumed dress. The figure draws the viewer into her contemplation, peace and confidence. An exceptional piece by Midener.
