Rare Schmieg and Kotzian Hepplewhite Faux Tambor Demilune Sideboard Buffet
By Schmieg & Kotzian
Located in Swedesboro, NJ
This is a completely original 1920s era Schmieg and Kotzian sideboard. The sideboard features outstanding flame mahogany and a hand-polished original finish retaining all of its original character and signs of age and minor wear. This is not a restored piece and will retain its value for decades to come. The piece features a faux tambor lower drawer and a pair of side cabinets with removable shelves. The piece has a nice polish and luster and will show minor signs of age and use such as nicks, minor scuffs and dings though looks as if it was a fine antique from the 1820s which it replicated masterfully. The piece is in very good original condition and has had the brass hardware hand-polished to brighten them. They are original to the piece and superb. This is a rare find and we have never seen this model before from Schmieg and Kotzian. The sideboard features the "SK" upside down stamp on its reverse and nickel label plate inside. Because of the shape this can be used in shallow areas that can't accept a deeper...
