Tony Bevan Abstract Prints
Tony Bevan is a contemporary painter, born in Bradford, England. He studied at Bradford School of Art in 1968 and earned degrees from Goldsmiths’ College in London in 1974 and the Slade School of Fine Art in 1976. He has worked as a professional artist since the early 1980s, using acrylic paint and charcoal to create portraits and depictions of architectural settings. Bevan is best known for his self-portraits, which are often compared to the works of Francis Bacon and Lucien Freud. His figurative works prominently feature the human head, often disproportionately large and rendered in dynamic slashes and lines.
