Walter G. Reynolds Drawings and Watercolor Paintings
Warwick (Walter) G. Reynolds was born in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, in 1832. He is also recorded as Warwick G Reynolds, which was his given name at birth. His mother Sophia Tidey was the sister of Alfred Tidey and Henry Fryer Tidey, two notable Victorian artists. Reynolds's mother died when he was a young child and he was sent to a boarding school, which was run by his grandfather in Sussex. Reynolds enjoyed a long and varied career as a professional artist. He died in Edmonton, London, on 9 January 1896, aged 63.
Reynolds’s artistic career was varied; he contributed comic heads to Judy in 1871–79, and his work also appeared in Funny Folks (1878) and C. H. Ross's Variety Paper (1877–78). He was a member of the National Watercolour Society from 1864 to 1865 and wrote a novel and several short stories. Reynolds exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1879–1884.
