An exceptional Italian Louis XV / Louis XVI style Mazarin bureau plat, crafted circa 1990, featuring exquisite hand-finished floral marquetry and meticulously applied gilt bronze mounts.
A true statement piece for luxurious interiors and refined settings. This magnificent Italian Mazarin-style bureau plat is a masterwork of craftsmanship in the tradition of the 18th-century French ébénistes, inspired by the renowned François Linke. The Mazarin form is defined by multiple drawers on each side, a central drawer over a door compartment, and elegantly curved cabriole legs joined by a marquetry-adorned stretcher — all present in this refined and balanced design. The desk is richly decorated with intricate hand-finished floral marquetry and classical scroll motifs on the top, sides, and drawer fronts, executed in carefully selected contrasting woods with extraordinary precision and polish.
The gracefully curved legs and cross-stretcher are further enhanced with delicate inlay work and finished with meticulously applied gilt bronze mounts and rosettes. The nine curved drawers, framed in decorative inlay, are fitted with ornate gilt bronze wreath pulls that add to the refined opulence of the piece.
