Mid-Century Modern represented a break with the traditional past: design-wise, furnishings were often a rejection of Victorian, Colonial, and other historical influences, especially the pseudo-historical use of ornamentation. In comparison, furniture of the 50s and 60s are generally more pared-down, smaller in scale, and uncluttered with unnecessary ornament: on this front, the movement shared qualities with the efforts of the Bauhaus designers’ vehement rejection of ornamentation. This coffee table has a strong elemental feel to it, which is a result of its thick table top and sturdy legs. The focus is on the Material, letting the beautiful qualities of the wood stand out. This rare circular table has an amazing construction that praises the firm, Angelini & Delneri. Upon first sight, this model is an elegant circular table made of beautifully grained wood. However, when the table is extended, the elaborate system is revealed by which the extra wooden leaves can be added to extend the length. The artisanal level craftsmanship is as stunning as the design itself, with traditional joinery techniques such as pegs and so-called ‘biscuit’ joints. Besides the extension system, the craftsmanship is also evident in every edge and angle, such as the legs’ curve and the ring strengthening them. This table is very successful at balancing large volumes with clean lines. The legs have rounded edges and are slightly splayed below the wooden ring.
This memorable design is from a designer committed to pushing the boundaries of modernist design in Brazil. The form is functional and elegant with subtle flourishes like intricate wooden details and the evident emphasis on functionality. This dining table is a grand piece that will stand out and add character to any interior.

This elegant table was designed as part of the 'Samsas' series of seating models and this rare table. Neither the light, the eye nor the person likes to turn against sharp corners, Malmsten explained once. Therefore, edges should be rounded so that they become friendlier to touch and look at. Carl Malmsten was not only one of Sweden's most famous furniture designers, he was also one of the last century's great cultural personalities with a strong influence on the home environment, public environment and the contemporary public debate. His personality shines through the design of this round coffee table as well. The design is dominated by the round tabletop with a spectacular sunburst pattern. The sunburst design or figure was commonly used in architectural ornaments and design patterns; it consists of rays or "beams" radiating out from a central point in the manner of sunbeams. To support the top are four straight legs with impeccable joinery that is visible under the tabletop. Since this table was made in the heyday of the mid-century, the legs, and the design as a whole lacks heavy ornamentation and instead focuses on the natural beauty of wood and the rounded edges.

Swedish designer, Fredrik Schriever-Abeln’s designs have become quite sought after only in the past years. This is in part due to the beloved design of this “Condor” table being misattributed to Illum Wikkelsø until recently.
The distinctive “X” shaped teak base defines this coffee table holding a glass top. The solid wood base is sculpted to perfection, the level of woodwork and precise joinery technique greatly shows off the skills of the craftsman. The structure is made with minimal joinery, the glass top is held solely by the carved “arms”, while the stretcher is joined to the legs with mortise and tenon joints. This nicely shaped Jens Risom desk has a well sized desktop, two drawer units with drawers and a pull-out leaf with glass top on each side. An internal lock allows you to lock the drawers with a key. The black steel drawer handles are mounted onto chrome rings and have a minimal design. The desk has cylindrical legs and refined adjustable feet. The back legs are a bit detached from the drawers which give the desk an open look to what otherwise would have been a quite solid / closed desk. The wood of the desk has a wonderful grain, that has come out beautifully over the years. It was manufactured by Risom Designi in the 1960s.
Condition:
In good vintage condition. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor marks and scratches. One key is enclosed. Some drawers don’t come out totally fluid. Manufactured by Risom Design.

Designed in a rational and geometric way, this pair of handmade Branco and Preto side tables have an open and elegant appearance.
Both tables are made of a combination of solid and veneer caviuna wood with a beautiful grain. Caviuna is a Brazilian timber tree yielding a heavy, hard dark-coloured wood streaked with black play that is also visible on this pair. These tables feature glass tops that are effortlessly embedded in the wooden frame adding modernism to the design. Underneath the glass tops are wooden shelves, which have a somewhat floating appearance thanks to the extending shelves that align with the tops. In combination with the recessed legs, these tables have a simple, refined look.
The strong lines and proportions are light and simple at the same time, which is a returning characteristic of the work of the Brazilian design duo, Branco and Preto.
Condition:
In good vintage condition. Wear consistent with age and use. The wooden veneer has some cracks / marks on one of the bottom plates.
