Seven "Peachtree" Dinner Plates Designed By Richard Meier For Swid Powell
By Richard Meier
Located in Doraville, GA
Seven dinner plates designed by Richard Meier for Swid Powell. The dinner plates are in the “Peachtree” pattern, the pattern probably references the location of the High Museum on Peachtree Street in Atlanta, Georgia which was designed by Meier in 1981. The plates were designed in 1984, they are porcelain with transfer-printed decorations, they measure 12 inches in diameter and 1 1/4 inches high at the lip. All the plates are fully marked on the bottom. Even though not indicated, research suggest the plates were manufactured in Japan.
Richard Meier was on born October 12, 1934. Meier is an American abstract artist, designer and architect. A winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 1984, Meier has designed several iconic buildings including the Barcelona Museum...
