About MERCANTIL
MERCANTIL (meaning "trade" in Spanish) is a design studio and sourcing atelier that connects luxury spaces with the most exceptional artisan-made furniture, art, and objects from across Latin America. Based in Mexico City, Miami, and Cabo, we work with an exclusive network of over 450 skilled makers to deliver one-of-a-kind, handcrafted pieces that celebrate cultural richness, material integrity, and timeless beauty.
Our curated collections feature sculptural furnishings, custom lighting, ceramics, textiles, and accessories—each chosen or commissioned for its soul, story, and place of origin. Whether it’s a carved wood console from Oaxaca or handwoven macramé from the Yucatán, our pieces bring depth and authenticity to every space.
Founded by designer Hillary Kent, the firm closely works with interior designers, architects, and hospitality groups across the U.S., Mexico, and the Caribbean, while also designing for villas, luxury 5 star hotels and yachts.
