Artist comments : This fabulous bluebell wood near my home in Somerset gives such pleasure each spring with a display of vibrant colour. I always look forward to seeing it again, and capturing the rich colour on canvas. Such an uplifting sight, and looking at the painting brings back wonderful memories of peaceful walks with my dog, and the gentle scent of bluebells.
Caroline has been a professional artist for 30 years, with work in private collections in the uk and abroad. Her paintings are shown regularly in many leading galleries including the Royal institute of oil painters, the West of England Academy, and many others. From the woodlands, rivers and meadows that surround her home, to the glorious coast of the west country, Carolines inspiration is simple: If I see somewhere I love, I want to paint it. For the viewer the paintings evoke memories of glorious landscapes in all seasons, captured while sketching and painting Plein air with a rich palette of colour . Her collection of work beautifully captures and celebrates our wild and natural British coast and countryside , demonstrating a real empathy with the subject and bringing it singing into our homes.
