About the Item
A beautiful poster celebrating the International Year of the Child 1979.
The United Nations declared 1979 to be the "International Year of the Child", with the aim of raising collective awareness and encouraging States to take action to protect and guarantee children's rights.
In the spring of 1979, the Commission on Human Rights decided to set up a working group to draft the future Convention on the Rights of the Child.
This project was largely supported by the Palestine Liberation Organization (P.L.O.), a Palestinian political and paramilitary organization.
