By Adolfo Genovese, F. & G. Handmade Furniture Co.
Located in Hanover, MA
Italian American modernist design expandable round dining table by Adolfo Genovese of F. & G. Handmade Furniture Co. 121 First Street East Cambridge, MA. This table was made late 1940s-early 1950s. Alexandra Round Dining Table by Autonomous Furniture
By Kirk Van Ludwig, Autonomous Furniture
Located in Victoria, BC
A dramatic round table featuring a thick blackened steel base. The curved conical base is meticulously curved and joined to create a virtual seamless connection, acting as a sculptural form. The 8-degree taper helps form depth and an intrinsic value to the piece. Designer Kirk Van Ludwig wanted the table balanced allowing for a person to sit on the end of the table without any movement, this was achieved through the use of 3/8” thickness and a large steel flange. The Alexandra table...
