Jan Pieter Brueghel Art

Flemish, 1628-1664
Jan Pieter Brueghel is the oldest son of Jan Brueghel II. and Maria Janssens. So far, little is known about his life and work. After training with his father he became a master of the Guild of Saint Luke in Antwerp in 1645/46. He created many flower still lifes and his style was highly influenced by his grandfather Jan Brueghel I and Jan Davidsz. de Heem. He occasionally collaborated with Walther Damery and Erasmus Quellinus. About 1663 he travelled to Italy where he is last mentioned in Venice in 1664. His exact date of death and the place where he died is unknown.
