This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver centrepiece has a plain oval rounded form, modelled in the form of an antique wine cistern. The lower portion of the body is encircled with impressive chased fluted ornamentation. The upper rim is encompassed with an impressive cast and applied bead and spindle, collared style border The interior surface of the bowl is embellished with fine chased scrolling leaf decoration; displaying the inverted design to the anterior surface below the aforementioned protruding border. This exceptional example of antique silverware is fitted with two cast and applied handles, each fashioned in the form of lion's masks grasping a leaf decorated drop-ring handle. This centrepiece bowl retains the original detachable push fit wirework display cover. The bowl is supported by four exceptional Regency style cast paw feet accented with fur details to the sockets, in junction with the body.
