About the Item

This 1970's two piece dress and jacket ensemble by Victoria Royal is quite a ladylike version of a tuxedo. The dress zips and hooks at the back with a built in bow tie, silver beading at the waist and a row of rhinestone buttons at the front that replicates a tux shirt. The cropped collarless jacket is embellished with a beaded trellis pattern that compliments the beading on the dress. Both pieces are in a weighty sea foam blue matte satin. Think of this look as 'First Lady Fashion' ... Pat Nixon, Betty Ford or Rosalynn Carter. CONDITION Good condition with signs of age and wear. The jacket has a dark smudge at the shoulder and some missing beads in the same area, please see photograph 15. The inner silk lining of the dress shows some discoloration and two frays presumably from a hanger as shown in photographs 16 and 17. The lining issues are not visible on the outside of the dress. Some of the beads have lost some of their silver finish and appear a little lighter though it is subtle and will probably go unnoticed. Professionally cleaned and ready for wear. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS Marked a size 12 and best fits a U.S. size 4 - 6 with attention to the following measurements. For visual reference, the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4.
